Presenter Bio:
Patty Smith is Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for Cox Automotive, the world’s leader in automotive software solutions for auto dealers, consumers, financial institutions and OEMs.  Cox Automotive is a subsidiary of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises.  Patty was named to this position in June 2016.  She is responsible for developing and managing the security strategy for Cox Automotive, as well as all aspects of risk management & compliance, security engineering, security operations, vulnerability management and security culture & awareness.

In 2019, Patty assumed the responsibility of Cox’s International Risk and Security, which includes Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. She is working with Communications teams to develop a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy for Cox Automotive’s diverse global workforce to ensure companywide security awareness initiatives are understood, implemented, and embraced. 

Patty has spent over 17 years designing, building and managing information security and technology risk programs that focus on delivering innovative security solutions while partnering with the business to enable innovation and business success.

Prior to joining Cox Automotive, Patty held positions including Vice President of Information Security & Risk Management at Dealertrack, where she was a founding member of the internet startup.  Dealertrack was acquired by Cox Automotive in October 2015. 

Prior to joining Dealertrack, Patty was an Internet Developer at Chase Auto Finance.  She began her career in 1996 at the American Institute of Physics as an Internet Publisher and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from St. John’s University in Jamaica, NY.

Patty was born and raised on Long Island.  She, and her husband Robert, currently resides on Long Island with their two children.

Over the past four years, she has helped guide and manage the growth of the Managed Services business from 45 team members to over 250 team members and from 2500 customers to over 5500 customers. Prior to joining Dealer.com, Erica was the CMO of JDK Design in Burlington, VT where she worked with brands such as Lululemon, Nike, and Xbox. She also spent 8 years leading the advertising initiatives for Killington Ski Resort. Erica holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and was a nationally ranked figure skater. When she's not working, Erica enjoys being outside, running and skiing. Erica is based in Burlington, VT.

Matt Murray:

Matt is the founder and CEO of Widewail, a reputation management technology and services company.
