Last month, we visited NHADA member [Merchants Automotive](https://www.merchantsauto.cars/) to recognize Ashley Wendt and Jacob Gilmartin on successfully completing their apprenticeships.

NHADA works closely with [ApprenticeshipNH](https://www.nhada.com/apprenticeshipnh) to promote automotive apprenticeships where individuals receive paid work experience, classroom instruction and a portable, nationally recognized credential while employers develop their future workforce. Through their [Automotive program](https://apprenticeshipnh.com/industries/automotive-technology/), students like Ashley and Jacob complete over 2000 hours of on-the-job training, as well as related instruction by one of the five NH community colleges with automotive programs.

**[Learn more about the ApprenticeshipNH program](https://foundation.nhada.com/industry/train-an-apprentice).**

The NHADA promotes programs like this as they are truly a win for everyone. Students can receive financial assistance and “earn while they learn”, while businesses can utilize the program to access a diverse talent pool and combat employee turnover; apprenticeships are great for encouraging employee loyalty.

We thank you, Merchants Automotive, for using this platform to encourage high-tech, high-wage opportunities in automotive.
